Hanit Lyla Simon, Esq, is a Family & Matrimonial attorney, providing representation to individuals in legal matters throughout the State of Florida, including adoption, divorce, paternity, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, actions for protection against domestic violence, actions for modifications of alimony, child support and parenting plans, along with child custody disputes, and related areas of Family Law practice. 

Hanit (pronounced “HA-NEET”) began her legal career as a prosecutor for the State Attorney’s Office in Miami-Dade County, where she was awarded the Spirit Award for outstanding courtroom performance.  Hanit went on to practice in civil litigation with a focus on business and real estate law but found her calling in Family Law after having the privilege of representing military service-members and veterans for the United Way of Broward County in Family court proceedings.  Hanit brought her strong litigation skills, diverse legal experiences, and dedication to Family Law clients into private practice, where Hanit remains a zealous advocate committed to improving the lives of individuals and their families.   

In addition to practicing Family Law, Hanit has presented as a speaker on Family Law topics to the Judiciary of Broward County, Broward County Bar Association’s “Raising the Bar” Seminar, Legal Aid Service of Broward County, and several local law schools.  Hanit has served as a past chairperson for the Florida Bar Grievance Committee, authored articles on the topics of trial and settlement in dissolution of marriage actions for Florida Bar publications and was the recipient of a Rising Star award presented by the Florida Bar Family Law Section, where Hanit served on committees contributing to advancements in the law.  

When she is not in the office, Hanit can be found spending quality time with her family, travelling, attending concerts and great shows.
